Kungwaani's begin in South Africa when Celia and her best friend Lucy created the first Kungwaani's sauce.
At the time, Celia's daughter Noku was just six years old and was there too.
We sold our sauce in South Africa and also brought it back to Toronto, where we sold it locally
After that first chapter, the business took a break while Lucy travelled and pursued other opportunities.
We expanded Kungwaani's from it's original sauce into a collection of three distinct sauces, each inspired by African and Caribbean flavors and traditions.
Kungwaani's was relaunched by Celia and Noku as a mother-daughter team bringing the business into a new chapter.
